Soto del Real parish plans Masses, procession and concerts for Our Lady of the Rosary

The Inmaculada Concepción parish in Soto del Real, a town in the Madrid region, has drawn up a program of events with the Confraternity of Our Lady of the Rosary. The program marks the feast of its patroness and the Month of the Rosary, celebrated in October. The events run across several days in September and October under the motto "With Mary we walk in hope".

The program opens on Sunday, September 27, with a day for young people at the Hermitage of Our Lady of the Rosary, from 11:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. On Wednesday, September 30, at 6 p.m., the image of the Virgin will be brought down from the hermitage, followed by the first day of the novena and Mass in the parish.

The novena ends on Tuesday, October 6, when new members of the confraternity will receive their medals, followed by a fellowship dinner. The next day, Wednesday, October 7, at noon, there will be a solemn Mass with a floral offering and a procession through the streets of the town. The torchlight Rosary will follow at 10 p.m. that night.

The program also includes a series of talks and testimonies, all at 7:30 p.m. On Friday, October 2, Belén Perales will speak on "From atheism to evangelization". On Friday, October 9, Sonia Vázquez will present "Mothers, a woman's weapons for the daily battle". On Friday, October 16, Juan Valderrama will speak about "The case of Sister Patrocinio", and on Wednesday, October 28, María San Gil will give a talk titled "Courage made Word".

The concert series, all at 7:30 p.m., is also part of the celebration. On Saturday, October 3, José Hernández Pastor will perform "The Song of the Sibyl". On Saturday, October 10, the El Canto choir from Colmenar Viejo will perform "The song of the Renaissance". On Saturday, October 17, the women's choir Arsys, conducted by F. Ercolani, will sing, and on Friday, October 30, Juan Gorin will close the series with "Gospel, voices of freedom".
