The program Estudio 9 hosted a conversation on Friday, October 16, with two missionary sisters about the message Pope Leo XIV has written for the 100th World Mission Day. The day is known in Spain as Domund, the Church's annual day of prayer and collection for the missions.

The two speakers were Sister Karina Gonzales Risco, a member of the Franciscans of the Immaculate Conception and a native of Peru, and Sister María del Pino Rodríguez de Rivera Olives, a Missionary of the Blessed Sacrament and Mary Immaculate, from Spain. Both gave their reading of the pope's message, which centers on an invitation to renew the fire of the missionary vocation.

Leo XIV's theme for the centenary

The theme Leo XIV has chosen for the centenary observance is "United with Christ, we must carry the fire of his love to the whole world." The two sisters discussed the message on the program and explained how the call to rekindle commitment to evangelization speaks to their own vocations and to the missionary situations in their own contexts.
