Talavera parish marks 50 years with a 10-day jubilee granted by the Holy See

The parish of San Ildefonso, on Calle Joaquina Santander in Talavera de la Reina, is marking 50 years since its founding with a 10-day jubilee granted by the Holy See. It opens on Sunday, September 20, at 8 p.m. with a Mass celebrated by Bishop Francisco-César García Magán, auxiliary bishop and secretary general of the Spanish Bishops' Conference. During the 10 days the church will serve as a jubilee church of the Archdiocese of Toledo, where the faithful can obtain a plenary indulgence.

The parish has organized a program of events running from September 20 to 30. Eucharistic adoration will be held around the clock, 24 hours a day, with a Holy Hour at 9 p.m. A craft market will be set up in the parish halls on September 19, 20, 26 and 27, where parishioners can buy items after the Sunday Masses.

Solemn closing with a commemorative mural

The jubilee closes on September 30 at 8 p.m. with a solemn Mass celebrated by Archbishop Francisco Cerro Chaves of Toledo. At the end of the Mass, a commemorative mural marking the parish's 50 years in Talavera de la Reina will be unveiled and blessed.
